Set for his professional MMA debut on Friday, August 11th at CES 45, Rhode Island’s John Douma of Tri-Force MMA is ready for a fight. With an impressive amateur career (5-2), Douma currently holds two amateur featherweight belts for Cage Titans MMA and Combat Zone MMA. When asked if his accomplished amateur career had earned him a nickname, the ever-blunt Douma simply stated, “F**k nicknames. I’m all business.”
With CES 45 fast approaching, Gary “Batman” Balletto Jr. (3-1) of Tri-Force MMA and Nick Alley (3-1) of Team Link, are set to share the cage as they look to make their mark on the welterweight rankings. In a valiant effort on all accounts, Team Tri-Force stepped into the ring to test themselves and their skills on Saturday, July 15th at Mark Wisher’s Fight Night at B&F Gym in Pawtucket, RI. Three Tri-Force competitors took home wins in two Muay Thai matches and one kickboxing match, each with impressive showings.
In a show of force, nine Tri-Force MMA competitors are set to fight tonight at 5:30pm for Mark Wisher Promotion’s Fight Night at B&F Boxing Gym in Pawtucket, RI. The card will feature amateur kickboxing and Muay Thai matches at a variety of weight classes, making it an ideal event for fighters who are young in their combat sports career.
Fresh off the heels of his CES 44 win, the call came through for New England’s Greg “Ribz” Rebello (22-7) to compete for a UFC contract. The opportunity proved unlike any other, as Rebello is set to fight live on UFC FIGHT PASS for the premiere of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series on July 11th.
Tri-Force MMA is proud to announce the promotion of five of its newest blue belts on the team. Alisha Vacca was promoted on April 26, 2017 and shortly thereafter, Diego Juarez, Travis Nguyen and Aiden Kravitz were promoted on May 17, 2017. Pablo Rodriguez is the most recent addition to the blue belts, having been promoted on May 27, 2017.
On May 20, 2017, three competitors from Team Tri-Force MMA arrived in Springfield, MA to take part in the King of the Mat 10 Grappling Championship. This no-gi tournament accommodates for all levels of adult and youth divisions. Dion Rubio, Toby Oden and Dylan Chase came to compete, each earning a podium finish in their respective divisions.
As the very first promotion beyond white belt, the ideal progression for a student to earn their blue belt is substantial.
